Re: Digest for EUforum at topica.com, issue 806

Hi all,

This is addressed to Mr. Craig, or to anyone else who
might know the answer. (I searched the archives but
didn't see the specific situation covered.)

Assume I liscense the source code for Eu 2.3. Upon
skimming it, I find a bug in the code... this ISN'T
an expected situation, but illustrates the point. :)

Am I allowed to post a bug fix to the list for others
who have the source? Or would that fall under the
definition of redistribution of the source? What about
general modifications, i.e., I find that printf() can
be sped up via by a slight change in the code, and
want to share the change. I already assume that if I
add a feature I think others will want I can release
the source for that particular routine and just point
out where/how to insert it into the standard source,
by taking care not to actually detail the source or
quote the line to insert after.

In sum, I guess I'm asking how much change will the
RDS source have to undergo before it's no longer RDS
source and legally available for release?

Rod Jackson
