Hmmm should have guessed really!

Yeah this seems to be a function of windoze. Im not sure how to change this
from in VEL, if you can at all.

A genuine bug. Damn!

Yes I am going to be addressing this. In VEL I am crippled with what I would
like to do... there doesnt seem to be a way of creating multiple list boxes
with one slider controlling them all, hence the segment idea.

Maybe there should be multiple "view forms" that allow you to say,
concentrate on HEX only, one for each number base?

Will check it out, although Im not trying to clone someone else's work, I
want mine to be better! : ) LOL

Yes I agree. I like VEL a lot, and if it was bug free, it would be
brilliant.

I have done yet another update, but not released it just yet. It adds a
SEARCH tool, colour coded charts, jump to start and end of file navigation,
and short cut keys. However, I am now learning Win32Lib and will be
converting it, as there are just too many bugs in VEL and this is why the
naviagtion is so bad in File Examiner.
If anyone is interested I will upload the newer version of File Examiner,
the last one that will use VEL.
