To Rob.. and anyone who cares to comment: I have an application written in Object Euphoria by Mike Nelson who was kind enough to port the program from original java by David Anderson. Mike ported this program for me primarily as a demo of Object Euphoria library. Andersons program Icos.java is posted on one of his web pages at: The program heading is: // Icos.java Copyright 1998 David J. Anderson There are no specific restrictions sited in the code or elsewhere on Mr. Anderson's web site. I have requested permission from Mr. Anderson to post/distribute the the port (free of course) giving full credit to Mr. Anderson describing any differences in the ported program ( Mike's code was a straightforward partial port of Icos.java - I have made slight modifications and extended the program somewhat) with reference in the program and/or documentation to his site for further information. It has been over a week now and I have received no reply from Mr. Anderson. My plan was to post the Euphoria code on The Recent User's Contribution Page and then refer people from other forums (Buckminster Fuller enthusiasts, dome home mailing lists, etc.), I am thinking that some of these people may be interested in learning Euphoria. So much for my plans... the question is - Can I legally/ethically distribute the port of a Copyrighted program? Your opinions will be appreciated? .................... Kenneth Rhodes Note: If David Cuny's editor is re implemented under his cross-platform GUI and then modified to support Mike Nelsons' OOP library with auto statement complete functions -it would be an OO_EE_GUI.
