Ive personally found that with keywords like found here: http://itis.net/msbl/msbl-current.txt and not allowing certain IP's like: ftp://ftp.h2osoft.homeip.net/filters.rec not having an open relay and keeping a global postmaster account for unknown users of my email server seems to work affectivly.
