is someone to create an AI agent to post fake questions/conversations, and make this place feel alive again....

It's certainly a fun thought.

From a more serious point of view, it's pretty clear: Wikipedia doesn't allow LLMs to contribute or sign up. Neither does any other forum. If you look towards the fediverse, they likewise largely adopt anti-LLM (autonomous) policies.

It's the rare place that can correctly balance a crowd that involves both humans and LLMs participating on an equal level. So rare that I can't think of any.

Uh oh. You are going to want to avoid the topic I just generated (for Pete's sake)(for your sake)! none

(sigh) Yeah, I saw that. I'm interested in the topic, however I'm more interested in talking to you about it and not a robot.

Which is a big part of the point - humans get onto forums and things like social media because a connection to discuss with other humans is desired. If a person wants to talk to an LLM, it's easy enough to go to google dot com slash ai - it's free and you don't even have to sign up!

Folks who come here likely want something more.

You'd always be talking to me. It's just I might use AI to refine my output is all.

e.g., for the thread I posted, the posts are based on my ideas and words and I personally approve every word.

My two cents, I'm fine with that. Though it's nice when it's disclosed (I used AI to help me write this - in the fine print). Point is that I'm still connecting with a real human being.

Well... except the second one. I just told it, "How would an expert Euphoria programmer answer the OP?" grin

Ha! Well - I guess we gotta let this go, just this once, if only for the humor value.

Yikes. One of the first fixes for the forum is for it to accept em-dashes and fancy quotes. I tried posting several times and it choked on common AI-output characters. getlost

Hmm. So I'll try to look into this - I fixed a similar issue on a previous incaration of this forum (there's some MySQL setting that has to be tweaked to support unicode or something IIRC).
