Thanks for the urls, Irv.

Discussions of picking the best SBC for each level and project will only muddy the forum waters. I have decided the Pi (or a similar device?) is the best mid-level to sit between the desktop pc(s) and a collection of Atmel/Arduino/clone low level devices. A serious plus if it can run OE. In this way i can shut down the pc and not lose anything. Also, the Pi can be remoted to the limits of communication on less total copper. At least, that would have paid off in the days the Pi cost under $50. The ATmega/clones would not have enough memory to store data.
