I don't think I can easily use CGI for this. I could create more than one feed, containing different numbers of messages, but that's a bit of a bother. With 50 messages, the file is about 150K to 200K. I also have a bit of a delay each time I go into Thunderbird e-mail, and like you, I also check my e-mail many times per day. I think you can tell Thunderbird not to check the feed every time, but rather set a time span for it. There are some people who check very often, but there are probably others who check their e-mail (and RSS) about once per day. It would be nice if the once-a-day people were guaranteed of not missing anything. In November we averaged about 24 messages per day, so a 50-message file is good for about 2 days. Rather than having a fixed number of messages in the file, it might be smarter to aim for a fixed time-span of messages. When things are busy, there would be more messages, and when things are quiet there would be fewer messages, but overall, the risk of someone missing some messages might be reduced. I'll experiment with that, with a view to slightly reducing the average number of messages contained in the feed. Regards, Rob Craig Rapid Deployment Software http://www.RapidEuphoria.com
