I registered my first copy of Euphoria (think it was 1.4)
the day my first program went over 300 lines. It was the
first thing I ever registered. I was unemployed and very poor
at the time, but never regretted it for an instant. I have
upgraded several times since. The very reasonable price and
excellent product makes me wonder how anybody uses the demo
version for any longer than it takes to hit the 300 line barrier.

Also if anyone is concerned, I have upgraded at least
twice using VISA over the web and never had any problems.

As for EU becoming 'open source', this has been debated
several times on the list, with some pretty good reasons
for and against(I think Daniel Berstein had a fair bit to
say on the subject). My own feeling is that it is such a
stable package now, that it would not be a good thing to
have a heap of modified versions floating around. Debugging
anything would become a nightmare:

"I'm using IDEv7.2 Win32lib 2.36c and The Fred Bloggs version
of EU3.1 with Mary Smith's alterations and a few bits I've added
in myself. My check box captions don't display correctly, can
anybody help ?" .... ummm .....

People using the IDE and win32lib now will be aware that
they are a bit unstable currently as they are still under
development. IMHO they would never have gone as far as they
have as group projects, if EU wasn't such a stable platform
to run on. If it became 'open source', there would be no
incentive for ROb to continue developing it. Instead there
would be several versions floating around with a few more
features and a heap of bugs.

chink .. chink (2c)

Graeme.
