It Really depends on what manufacturer made your modem. Some of the WinModems aren't supported and no drivers exist for Linux but, If you do a search from the RedHat Web Site for WinModems you might find one that will work buried in the NET. Sorry but, I dont know who made you modem or I would tell you. However, there is a site dedicated to WinModems for Linux out there I just forgot what the name of the site was. euman at bellsouth.net ----- Original Message ----- From: J Yazel <jyazel at ASACOMP.COM> To: <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> Sent: Wednesday, December 20, 2000 8:18 PM Subject: Re: ATI Rage + Linux = trouble (somewhat related to EU_ENGIN.E updated) > > On 20 Dec 2000, at 12:48, Euman wrote: > > > > > If it's any thing like my modem situation Linux can be a bear > > > I have a WIN modem that had to have a special driver designed to > > > even connect then still it's not as good as it should be. > > > ------------------------ > > Can you give me a pointer to where to get that driver? > > Thanks. > > Jack >
