The trick is to try to start things that will be small enough to finish.
It's not a trick, it has many other names, such as:
Wisdom; Maturity; Being Realistic; Modesty; Being Practical; Being Balanced; ...
The above qualities are not so common on Earth, that's why it consider as trick.
But thank you for reminding it (It's already mentioned 2,300 years ago in China area by Lao Tse).
