There is no palette under Windows. Unless you're in an 8-bit mode that is,
though most people seem to use 65536+ colours these days. Why do you want to
read the system palette anyway??

Probably not a good idea. As I said, that method is meant to be used in DOS
mode (though I can't say that it won't work in Windows since I've never
tried it).

Download PORTS.E by Jacques Deschenes from the Euphoria archives and use his
routines.
