I'm definitely of the opinion that it is more important to determine if there is a genuine and significant interest in a DOS edition, before we find maintainers for such a thing.

I am of the opinion the dos version matters just as much. Assuming it has the same command words as olde msdos5, will it be actually msdos5, or will it also be a strict clone of msdos5, or a modern flat memory model 32bit multitasking dos and a filesystem above FAT32? The hardware we have now to run dos on is 20 years beyond what we had in the msdos6 days, i feel using an advanced dos on it is a Good Thing, but throwing that hardware out because dos won't use it is a Bad Thing.

Someone once said the dos underlaying win95 could be yanked out and used seprately, i'd vote for that, except for the copyrights. And limitation to FAT32.

useless
