I'm seeing the stalling with some programs as well, that's what stops me from being able to build some versions as the build hangs at the translating code....generating part. if i use the --use-binary-translator it will build but i still get stalled programs, the thing that initially confused me with that was my ackermann.ex runs ok but sieve8k.ex doesn't.

You might try adding trace(3) to see where things are getting stuck.

i would except it never even gets that far, i put a with trace trace(1) in when i first spotted this and it just sits there blinking it's cursor at me
