So the most egregious error is the amount of zeros shown in the new news.ex on the right, vs my news3.ex on the left. <snip>
I couldn't reproduce these issues on Linux/GNU so I'll leave it to another dev to deal with them.
Using the 4.0.4 install, if you comment out all the urls except "http://news.yahoo.com" how many hits do you get for "Lybia"?

Even with the fixes, I get 0.
I've fixed http.e to be able to deal with this, and now I get 18 hits. Another very useful post.
I'd like to see your fix, because this bug has been there for years, and i wonder if you fixed it or simply eliminated the check for it.
