Thus spake David P Mosley on Tue, 29 Jun 1999: >Hi >I have a ? for you guys I am wanting to setup a BBS on my computer, but >don't know what to do does anyone know?.I have PWS that came with windows >98,and dial up server, but can't get them to work.Do you have to have a >special kind of software to setup a BBS if so what kind. >Thanks If you were happy enough to revert to DOS, there are some programs floating around on www.simtel.net in their msdos library that might help. Do a search on BBS and you'll trawl many fish. If you just want a single line dial-in then the tools are already there. As someone else has written, the costs go up when you want to do multiline stuff. Euphoria would probably cope ok with most aspects if you wanted to use it from go to woe, but it might be better to use what's already been invented, like Colossus, or WildCat. Let me know how you get on. BTW, despite the impact of the internet (which is considerable!) BBSes are not dead. Bruce.
