Sorry about your crash.
I finally figured it out. It's a little confusing.
Goto to Menu Configure}. From there goto Preferences then select View. From there, under View Options, you can see the }Stay on Top of Other Windows checkbox. I don't know why they didn't put all that in View Menu. It seems like they're going all 'round Robin Hood's barn to get there.
I've never had any crash.
I have never used either. I just wanted shut it off (un-check it).
