We've been told to learn Euphoria, but not any certain version - Euphoria in general. If you say there is no normal IDE for v4 we can use the v3. Our operating system is Windows7.

Ok, let's hear from some Euphorians who know, as I don't want to steer these students away from v4 if it'll work ok for them: should they be concerned about using, and the availability of, the IDE, or not? I know a LOT of work has been put into v4, but mightn't v3 plus the IDE be a better initial learning tool for them, or not?

And whichever is best, let's HELP them!

In general, I'd say to go with 4.0, except that Win32Lib and its IDE is currently much easier to use with euphoria 3.1. So if your intent is to use that stack of software, especially if you're just starting to learn euphoria, I'd stick with 3.1 for now, as the combination of 3.1, Win32Lib and the Win32Lib IDE is more mature, and there is a lot of experience in the community for helping with issues with that combination.

The IDE itself is a real beast, and the best way to use it is to use a version translated and compiled by someone knowledgeable about setting it up (it's all in the archive).

If you were trying to learn CS101 type stuff, doing command line programming, etc, I'd definitely go with 4.0, but that doesn't appear to be the case here.
