CPU Contest

There were quite a few submissions, and many tests were run. Jeremy is still working on final scores, and should have them by Saturday. I've got some more data up here:

http://test.openeuphoria.org/cpu-results/cpu_0001.html

The links to submissions don't work the way that was generated, but if you're interested in browsing, you can go to:

http://scm.openeuphoria.org/hg/contest/file/6ca5e37b6ad6/2010-12-15-cpu/entries

To browse the entries. Now, some explanation for what's up there. You might notice a column called "FUN_ENTRY". This column notes those entries that weren't really meant to be entries, but were put up as something interesting. I know I had one that emitted C code, compiled it, and ran the C code. Not surprisingly, the generated code was really fast, but it's just for fun.

Please ask if you have any questions about any of the stats posted up there. Also, there were a lot of different strategies used, including some that used the new preprocessor features of 4.0. Please ask if you don't understand something. One of the big goals of this contest was to get people interested and using some of the new stuff. Plus, having fun, of course.

Thanks to everyone who entered and submitted CPU code!

Matt
