I hafta say, having read through this thread for the first time toady, that I think (if we are agreed that it needs something like the php or ruby logo), then we should just design something that's simple, elegant, techy and lends itself to being rendered in a variety of ways. I had a play with some ideas, but kept coming back to the braces meme and decided all it needed was a suitable choice of font and colour scheme. So, I offer this for your consideration:
