Ok, I'll tell you what I had and what I did. NTFS Pro v3.12 wouldn't mount the broken partition. My Windows XP computer told me the drive needed formatted. Knoppix (a linux distro) let me copy nearly all the files from the broken NTFS to my fully functional WinXP drive running on FAT32. I still suspect that I could have recovered the system but... The customer only wanted a couple of files retrieved. Less than 5 meg of data. :/ I didn't have time to attempt recovery of the system. :( It would have been nice to know if I could have and if so, how to do so. unkmar ----- Original Message ----- From: "Daniel Pomales" <dpomales at dialup4less.com> To: <EUforum at topica.com> Sent: Thursday, July 29, 2004 7:40 AM Subject: Save that NTFS > > > Reload Windows but don't format the partition.
