also thought of another define that should probably be in the Makefile as there are now really 3 main choices in the glibc arena, uclibc,glibc and eglibc and it does look like at least on my setup (uclibc) that i have to comment out a few things that euphoria is providing as they are included in my libs already, i should go through everything and see what is where but a few defines in the makefiles wouldn't go amiss
