Not that exceptions are a bad thing, though.
They're not necessarily a good thing, either. Nor are they always easier to use. See, for example:
- Cleaner, more elegant, and wrong
- Cleaner, more elegant, and harder to recognize
- Your exception handler can encounter an exception
