From the forum alone, I can tell others were interested in downloading the past forum messages and using them for private searches. Rather than reinvent the wheel, has anybody already written a searcher similar to esearch.exu or something similar based on edb? I can’t expect rob to give away the store by providing his source code. Thanks in advance!
The source for esearch.exu has always been completely open source and free. See:

Perhaps someone should try to modify esearch to extract forum messages from the MySQL database created by Jeremy, rather than from the monthly files I was maintaining. I don't think I'll have time for that project.
I assume that the new EUforum database has all the messages from June 1996 to now.
