I think you can set recycle so it takes a smaller amount of space and will cleanup by itself when full. same for temp browser cache files. there is a diskcleanup popup when disk full error happens. maybe you can call that to cleanup all temp files at once.

rightclick on a disk in explorer -> properties, the cleanup button is there
