It is not currently possible to turn off this truncation. I wonder, should this be an option in 4.0?

I think a better solution is to write a routine that writes key variables to a file, and then link the routine in sing crash_routine(). This way, you get what you wish, and only that. Using both the custom file and ex.err should be good enough, or is it not?
