Q: Fastest dir()

What's the fastest Eu dir() routine anyone seen, and where can I get it? I have 10 apps reading and writing to a RAID 0 drive right now, and doing a dir() on a folder with 1,200 jpgs in it takes 7 seconds to 27 seconds.
