I used several editions of the Microsoft MS-DOS Programmer's Reference
books. Also, look for any computer language (pascal, turbo pascal, C, turbo
C, etc) book for dos from the late 70's to early 80's.

On Win98 the popup menu changes when you hold
the 'shift' key down so you can select
     'open with'
to reassociate files like Chris was saying.
It makes it fast and easy.
Win95 might not have this feature?

Good luck with it.

Hold shift and right click on icon and the "open with" is added to the menu in
win95, i just did it. Then in the "pick a program to open it with" box, you can
click on "always use this to open these files".
