1. beware the lurking Ramdrive!

Please (for those who still have their doubts) go into your 'My Computer'
and make a backup emergency disk (only if you don't already have one, which
you should). Look at the files on it. You will see that it contains
'ramdisk.sys'. Microsoft has to have it in the main files of any the WinXX
operating systems so that can be included on the emergency disk whenever
you make one. It is needed to install and re-install Windows.
Say, everyone, this has certainly been interesting thrashing this one
around. Any other mundane things we can chew over other than the trials
and tribulations of Linux Installing. Talking about that, there is a Corel
Linux out just now, with a much better GUI setup with it. That is a bit
more like Prime Time to me.
