Hi all, I have taken on the challenge of extending and improving the Visual Euphoria project last released by Daniel Berstein in November of 1998. Now called the Visual Euphoria Library (VEL), it now includes 28 individual controls (forms, buttons, checkboxes, listboxes, menus, standard dialogs, messages, timer, etc.). Also included are several demos and a completely updated help file done in Microsoft HTML Help format. While I won't pretend this is in any way a complete library, I will say that it is rich enough to demonstrate it's potential. I fully intend to continue to upgrade and improve the library as long as there is interest in the project. I would classify this release to be in the early or pre alpha stage. I expect this release to be available in the "Recent Contributions" page within a couple of days according to RDS. In the meantime, you may download the current version from my WEB page at: If you have any questions or comments, you can contact me at dumer9354@my- deja.com or leave a message on the Euphoria mailing-list. Have fun... Gary.

The library, like Daniel's original, is for Windows 95/98/NT. The VEL.CHM file is a Microsoft HTML Help file of the type that comes with those 3 operating systems. Just double-click on it. Daniel did NOT actively participate in this release, other than to give me his blessing for taking over the project. His original documentation is not relevant for this release. I put his email address in the documentation as a courtesy, in appreciation of his wonderful efforts on the original concept. Hi all, vel.chm is what Microsoft calls a compiled *.html file. If I remember, it will take a full website and compile all the pages including graphics into one file so that it can be transported. It was intended for a help file replacement just like Gary said. Oh btw Gary I am very interested in VEL so if you would like a beta tester sign me up. Thanks John for furthering my explanation about VEL.CHM. As for beta testing... have at it. Test the guts out of it and give me as much feedback as you can. I appreciate your interest. Gary. The VEL.CHM which stands for compiled HTML help file requires the HH.EXE application to display the file. HH.EXE seems to be installed by newer versions of internet explorer. The reason I could not display the VEL.CHM file on one of my systems was it had a older version of IE. Bernie

Hi all, In case anyone else has a problem with the VEL.CHM file, I have created a standard HTML help file. It is available for download from my WEB page http://personal.atl.bellsouth.net/atl/t/d/tdwalsh/. This documentation may also be viewed from the site if you want to browse it online or prefer not downloading it. Gary.
