1. Mailbots and Euforum

Rob/Junko, I just noticed, that my e-mail address in my signature is readable for mailbots in Euforum! That's for your program transferres the e-mail content directly into the HTML page. Would it be possible to 'encode' legal e-mail notations by translating the term 'mailto:user at domain.de' by replacing the characters by it's ascii representation for HTML? My address should be written in the Euforum html page like this: "mailto:Rolf@RSchr.de" It's still possible to click the address for calling the mail client. But mailbots are normally not able to 'decode' this. I second this request. Spammers long ago developed the ability to extract addresses such as <rolf at foobar dot com>. I would suggest showing just a screen name, and having a database at rapideuphoria.com where you could go to look up an actual e-mail address for a poster (if that poster wanted to have his/her address available) in the rare event we needed to e-mail someone who we don't already know. That database would only allow one manual lookup at a time (no wildcards), so that should prevent automated harvesting. Irv

Of coure, what I do is just use allspamgone, but hey, good idea! >It's still possible to click the address for calling the mail client. In May I added a couple of lines of code just for you and your signature. I'll remove them. They allowed the clear address to be seen when "mailto" was used. I think for now replacing "@" with " at " will fool most of the mailbots. We can improve it in the future. Regards, Rob Craig Rapid Deployment Software http://www.RapidEuphoria.com
