On freshmeat --> browse --> development status, there is a list of 6 stages of development of a project. Among them are: 2 - Pre-Alpha 3 - Alpha 4 - Beta There seems to be no explanation on freshmeat of what these mean, nothing in the FAQ, etc. Is there an exact meaning of these 3 terms? If I have a project that seems to work but needs more testing to be sure that it works, which stage is it in? (Specifically this project is the Linux version of "Anagram Quiz Program". You can find it on user contributions by searching "anagram".)
