--0-1563823746-1086363236=:16822 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Dear Euphorians How about a tiny Euphoria for Win CE or Palm? If the Win CE version came with a wrapper for Microsoft's Embedded Visual Basic environment (which is available as a free download from their site), one could write some pretty nifty Pocket PC applications. Might I also humbly repeat my request that RDS consider making it possible to expose the Euphoria interpreter at runtime so that Euphoria could be used as a front-end scripting language in built apps. Thanks to Rob Craig and all the folks at RDS for a wonderful development tool. I am truly smitten! I personally think it would be a great idea to have a Palm version of Euphoria. Though I think that the powers-that-be will probably be working on much more mundane stuff :( Let's hope the RDS team expands a bit and more people can work on more interesting uses for Euphoria - maybe to bring it into use on some commercial apps as well. Just my 2 pence worth.

This idea certainly has some merit. I just completed a feasibility study for a client on deploying his apps to mobile and embedded devices. The choices for programming languages are very limited to say the least. The other issue is a suitable graphics API. It would take some doing to get his apps ported... I discovered during my analysis the OpenGL ES project. The OpenGL ES project is moving along very nicely and will provide a small footprint OpenGL API variant for mobible/embedded devices. A number of companies are already adopting and contributing to the effort. The URL is: http://www.khronos.org/opengles is anyone is interested. Now, what we need is a spiffy, fun to code, simple to learn, extendable language to bind to OpenGL ES. Hmm, any suggestions? 8^)

There is also TinyGL: http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/TinyGL/ It's a software only implementation of a subset of OpenGL that's also suitable for embedded devices. -- David Cuny
