Formal AnnouncementLucius L. Hilley III complains [X] Feature Exist [_] NOT a Feature [Change Settings] [X] Set Posting Name [X] Set Signature [_] Set Password [_] Set Email address [_] Block Email address posting [_] Set Number of messages listed (per screen) [_] Set Display style (not important) My Story: The interface says change settings. I thought I might be able to select the number of messages I could see. So I attempted to login, But it has no relation to the topica list that I know I am getting my messages delivered through. Therefore, I decided to signup to this thing using one of my common taggable addresses instead of the bellsouth thing you all people see. What a pleseant experience that was. Yes I was able to quickly and easily be sign up. I was promptly emailed my white noise of a password that I can't possibly remember without severe concentration. No fear. Click change settings. To my horror, I can not change my Password to something more to my liking. Even if it had restrictions like "Must have at least 1 digit, 1 upper case, 1 lower case and be at least 8 characters long. Now that forces some warped passes... but at least if you devise it yourself you have a prayers chance of remembering it. Anyow, the only thing Change settings lets you do is set a signature. unkmar Lucius L. Hilley III

[Manual Returns] A reason to NOT want to do manual returns. I change the text a paragraph up and have to manually readjust returns for 6 or 7 lines. Just like I did for this one, More than once. You can also add in the problems of proportional fonts versus Fixed with character counting. I left as much as the message below as possible. As for the manual returns, I tend to do them as well but since my screen is much larger, Automated scrolling would look a bit nicer. If you think it looks bad when > are insert for quotes. Take a look at mine below. I evidently went to far before I applied manual returns. So I've got returns and more returns. [Passwords] Some of us nutjobs like to remember our passwords and don't want just any other nutjob to be able to walk in behind us and login to anything of ours just becuase cookies are handy. I actually find it annoying that the [X] Remember Password defaults to checked. That means I have to uncheck it EVERYTIME I login. If just one time I forget. Then I have to manually find and remove the cookie. I may have multiple cookies that I actually want. Also, finding a cookie for removal differs from browser to browser. Those don't mention any of the other features. unkmar ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brian Broker" <bkb at cnw.com> To: <EUforum at topica.com> Sent: Thursday, June 03, 2004 4:39 PM Subject: RE: Euforum Web Interface Please see: http://www.listfilter.com/cgi-bin/esearch.exu?fromMonth=5&fromYear=9&toMonth =5&toYear=9&postedBy=Robert+Craig&keywords=%22listfilter%2FEUforum%2FChange+ Settings%22 -- Brian Unkmar wrote: > > Lucius L.
