FWIW if anyone's interested I have written some routines to generate random numbers that have non-linear probabilities, that is some numbers are more likely than others. I used a bell curve as the basis for some of the routines and exponents for others. The first version is already on RDS's contrib page. and the second and third (a major re-write after I found a bug in ver2) have been sent to RDS's and Irv's sites but not posted. The third ver is designed for user expansion and only has one global function to deal with. It also has a graphical demo/test prog that uses mode 259(800x600x256) (only 3 vaiables and the call to graphics_mode need be changed for other graphics modes) I'm curious as to what people think (if anyone is interested) I'd be willing to e-mail ver3 to anyone who doesn't want to wait for it to show up on the above mention sites.(not that I think anyone would be THAT interested, but my ego's complaining I aint fed it recently :)) Kasey
