1. Win32 programming tips and tools

Hello to everybody,
I just joined the mailing list because I want to know something about
windows programming with the new Euphoria 2.0 version.
Does anybody have some tips, sourcecode, tutorials in mind, which are
useful to start programming under Windows95 ?
Is there a smaller helpfile available as that one mentioned in the Euphoria
archive ?
Many thanks for your interest and help!!
Bernd

I'd highly recommend "Programming Windows 95" by Charles Petzold. It's =
about $50; the example code is in C, not C++, and does native API calls =
instead of to the Microsoft Foundation Class (MFC). That means that it's =
easy to port the code to Euphoria.

There is a Win32 tutorial in C++ at:

   http://www.relisoft.com/

You might want to check out Microsoft's Win32 tutorials, at:

    http://207.68.137.53/win32dev/wcnt.htm

There are other tutorials available, but I can't find references to them =
at the moment.

You lucky... In Spain (at the current exchange rate) is about $110...

There is another nice book on Win32 advanced programming (threads, memory,
etc) by Richter.

Jesus, forget the local rip-off artists, you can get it much cheaper from
amazon.com, paperback for about $40. Jiri

Not so easy... I tried it several times. Amazon works okay, even once that a
book took two month to arrive (and both me and Amazon were convinced it was
lost), Amazon sent me a new one via Courier... Nice service.
But besides the local book-thieves, we have to deal with spanish Post
Office. If bookstores are expensive, the Post office at the village I live
is full of robbers. All the computer magazines I use to receive, come open,
without the companion CD...
And if I ask for courier mail, Amazon charges enough not to be competitive.
So I'm going to still pay 200% more anyway.

(But not all is so bad here in Spain.)
Thanks for yr help, Jiri.
Jesus.

Couldn't you purchase it from Amazon.com and save a little dough?

Here at Chile I bought it at $80 dollars (student benefits?), but usually it
sells for $95.
Strange it's so expensive at Spain, I was on Madrid a bit ago and bought
Stalling's book on Computer nets and communications at half chilean price,
other books (including Microsoft Press) were chepear also.
