1. Bilingual dog
Ar-r-r-r!
When someone posted that joke about the bilingual dog a few days ago, I
laughed until I cried.
Then I immediately forwarded it to a friend on the East Coast (I am in San
Francisco). She replied, saying she had first heard the joke years ago.
She thinks it's not funny any more.
Ar-r-r-r-r!
(That's the dog growling, not me.
)
Speaking of old jokes not being funny, recently there has been a lot of
stuff on TV billed as 'comedy' that leaves me sitting there stone-faced,
even with a studio audience laughing their heads off. But I have a tape of
the famous (notorious?) Abbott and Costello 'Who's on first?' routine, which
is so old it has a gray beard by now. In spite of the fact that I have
listened to the tape innumerable times, it still leaves me howling with
laughter.
Now those guys were *comedians*! The new crop should take up tragedy, maybe.
