thanks dan for the suggestion only problem NOW is i dont know how to get my screen shots into the 'post' copy & paste does not work as the 'paste' choice in the right-click menu is ghosted out and 'dragging' it across from its folder to the composing message area seemed promising until i let go of the button and the contents of the window ("Send a Message to EUforum") were completely replaced with microsoft internet explorer showing the image of the screen shot AND NOTHING ELSE - i.e. i had to log back into to EUforum from a different window and start composing thid message from scratch - containing no pictures to show you i love computing but i obviously dont know enough of the "ins and outs" to avoid pitfalls like this {sigh} but the weather has been fine here in new zealand so all is good love light peace & fondest eel -x-

But I'll try something, so look to see if there is a screen shot after this reply. If there IS, what I did was past the screen shot into wordpad (or some other editor), then select all, re-copy, & THEN in a message for this forum, "paste" is no longer greyed out, so I clicked it--however, I see nothing as a result. Question is, when the post is viewed, will the screen shot be visible? Or, perhaps others can suggest how to send a screen shot? Dan

Maybe you can upload screen shot to some site & provide a url? Best I can come up with. Dan

Press PrintScreen, then open a graphics program (Paint Shop Pro eg), and paste the graphic into there. Dos / command line windows can also be capture this way, but there is another way. Click on the icon in the top left of the window, and use the edit / select / copy functions to copy the text, and paste it into the application of your choice. I have of course assumed that your error messages are appearing in a console window, and not in a gui window. Chris
