How about the ability for posts to get ON to the list? I could rarely post to the old list. even through the ListServ interface.. They would simply be ... LOST!? Others have said the same in the past... Chris Al Getz wrote: > When i hastily posted my first post on this 'new' list i didnt really > try much out on it. Actually, I sent a post to the old list about two hours ago (of similar topic).. still waiting for it to get there... I'll post it here too.. -- COPY OF MSGS SENT TO LISTSERV -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I for one, do prefer this list over the Topica List, and I'm the one who suggested it to Rob. The advantages that I have lost to the move are of little signifigance to me though.. I enjoy reading the posts, and I also enjoy replying.. I can do that from any list, doesn't matter to me. I just want to stay in the game.. BUT!! The reason I sought out the topica list is because, I'm tired of having to repost, wait, find out if it made it to the list, then repost... etc..etc.. Other people have had the same complaints.. I beleive this was Robs motivation to switch over, not anything to do with MTS.. cause he'll be around regardless... More often than not, my posts have not made it to the ListServ.. (A lot of times I've been glad though.. LOL) Even posting from the ListServ webbase, it was the same thing.. Just recently in fact I had to repost a message, FOUR times before I gave up, and it never did make it to the list... Particularly when I post from the webbase, it was a pain int the anus, cause I don't have the option of saving my sent mail.. The topica List IS stable, I'm sure of that.. It lacks in areas, but also has features that this list doesn't.. I for one am willing to sacrifice what I've become accustomed to and make changes.. >Was there really a NEED for this new list or was it only a novelty? -- END OF LISTSERV MSG -- Chris Chris Bensler wrote: > How about the ability for posts to get ON to the list? > > I could rarely post to the old list. even through the ListServ > interface.. Does that not qualify as a pain in the anus?! And how long should I wait for listserv to post my msgs? 1,2.. 3 hours? That's a lot of dough for me.. Costs me almost 2$ an hour to be online here.. and it's not convenient having to save my msgs to floppy disk, in txt format no less. And come back the next day to find out my msgs never made it.. Repost, and wait another day.. etc... By the time I DO get my msgs to the list, any comments that I would've wanted to make would be old topics by then! For the sake of the txt argument, what I DID do is just copy to the clipboard, then if I felt my msgs didn't make it, I could just paste.. Just can't copy over my msgs in the time being.. Or else I would just leave the msg window open until my msgs did get through.. The main problem is time though..
