i could easily and wholeheartedly agree to this.

hurmmm...
i think we might need to discuss this option
a bit further.
the goals of this listserv are to discuss euphoria,
and to discuss euphoria code, among other things.
by ridding the listserv of the discussion of posted
euphoria code, which runs the gamut from
"hey i just made this code that is a great
utility/game/prog"
all the way to
"hey, i made this code and it's broke, help",
we will lose alot.
for the latter type of code, broken code that someone
needs help with, i suggest doing nothing different.
simply post that type of code as always.
for the code that is supposedly a game/util/prog,
we generally post that type of code in one of two
ways, depending on it's size. if it's small,
we've always just simply posted it, and if it's
large, we've generally zipped and attached that
code. we may wish, indeed, to alter this set of
activities to help prevent idiocy.
"sending all code through robert" taken as a specific
statement may not be such a good thing. however,
if we make it a tad more generalized of a statment,
such as "sending all code through an official tester",
then i think we may have a working solution.
rds and crew are busy working on EU3, and i for one,
would like them to stay that way :)
this means we might need someone trustworty that
has a 'spare' computer that could be made to only
simply contain the barest necessities on its HD
(dos,EU2 and minimum install win95) and would
be used to safety test any short code postings
that had asm or mach lang code within it and used
to safety test any long code that was zipped/attached.
i don't think short, pure EU code, simply posted to the
listserv, would be dangerous, as it would be far too
easy to spot trouble code written in pure EU.
in short, a supervised staging arena might be wise.
