I have zero web access to the new list,, but then, i have zero web access to this one too, so no problem. Juggling benefits/drawbacks, the new list has advertising, but can be moderated. Moderation has good points and the possibility of abuse. I wanted a good programming language, and am not going to be distracted by the politics of listserv management. If i cannot use a language, i am free to use another or write my own. I have already removed myself from this list and subscribed to the new one. Splitting the small user population tween two listservs is not a good thing. Kat

The web interface to me is useless. I would have just prefered not spending the 2 minutes it took to change my filters to the new list. Was there really a NEED for this new list or was it only a novelty? -- evil, corruption and bad taste ^[cense]

I don't see anyone talking about windows programming on the new list. I myself refuse to signup on a commercial list that is collecting demigraphics and dumping cookies on my hd. You can't send posts to the list without signing up. Bernie

This old list seems to deliver messages much faster than topica as well. -- evil, corruption and bad taste ^[cense]

However, MTS recently mailed RDS a Euphoria Bulleting Board, excellently hand-picked and crafted, and ya know what? RDS didn't even reply to my goddamn mail. Now this dude comes up with this crappy 'Topica, The Unknown List Server For Nerds' and RDS takes it like it's a God's gift from heaven. Look at this nice BB I made for Euphoria; http://www.messagefriends.com/talk/mts2000.html It lets you inline HTML in your posts, use graphic smiley faces, moderate the board, link in images, urls, format text, etc. And I made the forum to kinda match the RDS site layout. Go figure. Mike The Spike __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Auctions - Buy the things you want at great prices. http://auctions.yahoo.com/

Personally, I don't give a whit what list server we are on, as long as it works. The transition went without a hitch for me. I subscribed to discuss programming, not the relative merits of list servers. Some discussion is understandable, but enough is enough, and as far as I'm concerned, we are pushing the limit.... Why don't we shut down the listserv now, so we can get all the moaning over and done with, I'm not looking forward to it:( Graeme. Who still has bad toothache after 3 days. I'm not having any trouble, either. Gerardo
