Hello everybody and moderator, The other night or (morning I should say) I posted a message thinking that the recipient was still on line. I refreshed and refreshed and my message never showed up. Many other messages on the same subject showed up making my original message obsolete. In time I figured that the moderator had deep sixed my message (for some political reason). So I sent another message re-stated and more up-to-date. I re-freshed and low and behold my old message showed up (40 minuets later). It's not that I have anything THAT important to say, but I was on the Ubuntu board the other day and my messages show up in two or three minuets (maybe less). Why the big delay on this board? hI This is not a message board, its a list of messages. If it update to the year 2006 then it would indeed be a message board, like uboard, where messages showed up instantly. The arguments for keeping this as a list IMHO, no longer apply - ie poeple like to get emailed the list as a digest, so they don't spend so much time on line, how many of us write our replies while on line, and how many of us reply offline, then go on line again to send it. If we had a message board we could have a poll - like this http://uboard.proboards32.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1152013441 You will need to register or log in to answer. Topics could be titled, so you could easily follow threads. Posts could be edited Files could be attached etc etc As you can tell, I a am a fan of forums - I'll bet eu could handle one, as a program, but I know that everyone comes here, so everyone will continue to come here Chris http://members.aol.com/chriscrylex/euphoria.htm http://uboard.proboards32.com/ http://members.aol.com/chriscrylex/EUSQLite/eusql.html

If someone (including myself) posts a lot of messages in a short period, I have some code that delays that person's next message(s) until the situation clears up. This is done to gently discourage people from monopolizing the board, and using it as a private chat facility. The code rarely kicks in, but I see that it did affect you (and others) recently. I've changed the parameters just now, so it won't be as harsh in the future. Regards, Rob Craig Rapid Deployment Software http://www.RapidEuphoria.com
