1. BUG in EE "Save As..."!
I've been alerted to a *bad* bug in EE (my Euphoria Editor) that will =
CRASH the program. I haven't had a chance to solve it, but several =
people have had the editor crash on them, and I don't want any more =
people losing code over this.=20
Thanks to some unfortunate victims, I've finally been able to duplicate =
the bug. It's in the "Save As..." dialog. If you:
1. Move to the Directory list using the mouse, and=20
2. Try to use any of the navigation keys (like END)
it is likely to *crash* the program. If you pay attention, you can see =
that the focus is not properly transferred to the Directory list - the =
cursor instead moves to the File Name SLE.
This bug *appears* to be limited to using the mouse; it seems that I can =
safely navigate to the list using the keyboard.
I hope to have a fix posted some time tomorrow - it's not clear why the =
focus is not moving to the Directory MLE. In the mean time, please be =
aware that a crash in the editor means that your code is permanently =
LOST, and act accordingly.
I'm considering a "file backup" option for future versions.
I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Good Idea

You did warn us, it was a beta..
But does this mean, that you are also gonna improve the editor..
(perhaps project handeling, marco scripting *i want that badly*)
BTW Your online help isn't working 100% right too, if there is no space
between the routine and the beginning of the line, it will say there
there isn't help available. (should be easy to fix)
But i think we really, really want macro scripting up to a superb
level.... (ebasic in a scripting file, i know its way too complicated
for macro scripting, althrough i will have a try anyway)
I'm thinking about a pre-processor that translates macro to normal
euphoria include files. (So the scripting could use all the tricks it
wants to, but then with readable rules, and not wasting time on the
parser stuff)
What do you think about that idea, could a generic
scripting-pre-processor make your ebasic a lot more readable and easy to
maintain ??

3. Re: BUG in EE "Save As..."!
I don't know about anyone else, but I run on a 486. And I must say that
EE runs a LOT slower compared to Qbasic editor. Is there not anyway to
speed up it's load routine?
