1. It works 2. >1. It works A lot of IRC-servers refuse some one, if they also have a server (of the same organization) closer to where the server traced the connection down (the locaiton of your ISP). So, it might work for you, but not for others, that have another EF-server much nearer than the one you made the room for. For such rooms, I really recommend you would surf to webmaster.com (or something simelair) .. there you will find the best Java-based chatting (including IRC-commands, opping & de-opping all with the *interface*), and if you look closely when you connect, you can figure out which server to connect to with miRC. This server has another advantage, it is still connected to a name and room server. So, you can password a room, so you'll always be the OP. Also you can password your own nickname, so people can only use it, until you connect (then its *yours* again) Many IRC servers are no longer making any use of the nickserv and the chanserv.. look it up in your IRC-manual.. the commands *are* mentioned. >2. Speak correct English Speak correct Dutch nate! Thats not fair is it ? And since when, is language the purpose of communication, rather than the tool ? Its like saying to a handyman that he isnt very helpfull cuz his hammer looks much more ugly than yours. Plus, not every one, every where gets the oppertunity to learn English at school, or have much time to learn it themselves or maybe they cant efford it. You have no clue how much effort some people here put it, to make a meaningfull message in English. I must admit, im not one of them, but some people here have a much more different base language (dutch is very like english compared to chinese and japanese for example), and English is for them completely different. Im still not out to get you, but you shouldnt have said this, to some one trying to be nice, to inform you why there would prolly not be many people in your euphoric chat room.
