David, I think you should take a day or two off and grieve properly. I know she was so young (Gnuphoria was a beautiful child, such a waste!), but if you do not come to terms with her death, you will become vicious, bitter and twisted, just like me. I am commenting on your criticism of Irv's Windoz only because I was the one (with one or two others) who started the ball rolling way back in the Golden Era (before exw - pure nostalgia). A lot of people, hobbyists like me, code in Euphoria because it is easily accessible, extremely expressive and, generally, such a pleasure to use. Only a few masochists among us crave the Windows pain. All we need is a reasonably consistent, preferably extensible set of basic controls, gadgets if you like, to adorn our games or simple applications. You know, buttons, checkboxes, menus, simple requesters etc. We do not need multiple, draggable, resizable windows, changing focus, complicated modality, and oop approach (<- look at the spelling, Ralf) to slow it all down. I had a go. A very early version was used in my rat demo, but then Irv and you rushed in, and I decided I had better things to do, like to live the rest of my life... You had probably a better plan, but Irv's was better looking (Dave, ugliness of the Mac mimicry is beyond description!). Unfortunately, you got pregnant (with Gnuphoria, we all mourn her loss) and abandoned the project (I don't think you were ever terribly fond of that particular stepchild anyway). And (as usual, it happens to all of us) Irv became too ambitious, bit off far too much and now is choking on it. Have I been unfair to anybody? jiri
