1. HELP!! and cool story
Hello everyone,
I have been totally swamped with mail lately. There was no way for me
to read it all so I started deleting all the messages that had subjects
that didn't look very interesting to me. While I was doing this I
noticed a message with a subject of "HELP!!" or something like that. I
thought it strage that there were no replies to it just before I deleted
it as well. Later I had the disturbing thought that possibly that
particular message was sent directly to me via private email. If this
is so and the sender is on this list please resend the message and I'm
sorry for my incompetence.
OK, now for my cool story. Yesterday, my college had certification exams
to see how well the teachers are teaching us. The CIT department test
was 5 pages long. The first page was very basic stuff like general
computer vocabulary and the like. The second page asked for an algorithm
to solve a particular problem. I did a flo-chart which did this. The
third page asked us to actually write the code that would accomplish a
certain part of that algorith in a laguage of our choice. I of course
chose Euphoria and had a great time. At the very bottom of the page I
wrote "Language: Euphoria". The last 2 pages did not apply to me because
I had not taken the corresponding classes and I did not get graded for
that part. To incourage students to do their best, the college had an
awards ceremony today. I got 1st place for a first year CIT student.
WOOHOO! Granted only about 2 classes represented each department but I
thought it was pretty cool anyway. I wonder what they thought when they
saw "Euphoria" on my test. It apparently didn't have a negative effect
and about 1/3 of my grade was based on that Euphoria code. Well, I
thought I'd share that with y'all
