I've seen it on some "classic" games cd-roms. I dunno about the ibm version. I played it on the apple II a million years ago. One other thing that was cool, it had like 100 rooms with stairs up and down, but every time you started a new game, it randomized the castle layout, so you never knew where you were or how to get out. You just had to keep going, searching until you found your way out. The graphics were pretty primitive compared to today, you had a overhead view of the area you were in (kinda like berzerk) and you saw any guards marching around doing their thing. If they heard or saw you they'd run to you, machine gun you and say "You're caught!" You had to stay hidden behind a wall, waiting for them to be facing away from you. Then you'd run out in the open and you could get off one, maybe two shots to kill them. If they weren't wearing a bullet proof vest, they'd scream and fall into a heap. Unfortunately, you could only hold 1 clip of up to 10 bullets, and every guard you killed was found eventually by SS guys with Bullet proof vests and they would start searching all the rooms until they found you. The only way to kill them was with a grenade, which you found in locked chests which you had to pick open. Sometimes it'd take like 300 seconds to get the lock open, which is a long time when ss you have ss guys chasing you. You could shoot off the lock on the chest, but that wastes a bullet, and you have no idea what's in the chest. (libfraumilch, bratwurst uniforms, bullet proof vests, bullets, grenades, or the plans to a secret operation (game goal)). If you shoot, the ss guys might hear it too... cool game. Very different from having a map that's the same every game and where you try and kill everyone in sight, then search meticulously for the those not in sight so you can kill them too. Although knifing the dogs and eating their food for health was an interesting touch in wolf 3d.
