1. Euphoria with OS/2
Hello, our office computer network uses OS/2 (don't laugh, it was the best
option in the early 90's). I have been writing some applications in
Euphoria to compliment this system - statistical analysis, price list
generation and purchase order generation to be specific. None of these
applications require system commands or graphics etc.
Up until this point I have been running them under DOS, which is fine, but I
want to streamline some processes and don't wish to reboot to DOS every
time.
My question is, before I possibly wreak catastrophic havoc on the office
system, has anyone had any experience with Euphoria operating under OS/2?
Can anyone think of possible problems?
Most of the applications on the network are DOS applications anyway and OS/2
claims to run DOS apps without many problems, I guess it might work.
And before anyone suggests the obvious - no I don't have a seperate machine
running OS/2 to test with, and I can't shut down the network.
I would really appreciate any help from experienced OS/2 users.
Kind Regards,
Aidan

Aidan-
My dad brought home OS/2 Warp v3 from his office for
me to play with and I ran some DOS apps within OS/2
fine. The version I had also can run Win 3.x apps in
its natural mode or in a WinOS/2 mode. I haven't had
any problems that I can recall, but I haven't used any
"serious" programs on it for DOS just mostly prompt
stuff. Shouldn't be a problem. If you screw up your
network, you could always call up IBM tech support and
give 'em hell. :)

People:
I've used DOS Euphoria with OS/2 for years. The only problems
I've had are in fancy graphics. Sometimes, those programs will
hang my system. Other than that, no problems.
I've even bound a program to the Windows version, and it ran just
fine on that OS.
