If you want a rotating ball there are Jezzball graphics online that should
work.(Google it)

Hi there,

I did a 'bouncing balls' simulation program where balls bounce around
and hit each other within the confines of a large circle. Each time
they hit something they make a 'chirp' depending on various factors,
and their angle of reflection depends on a number of factors too.
The angles were simplifed to make the calculations simple, so it partly
depends on how accurate you want the system to emulate real life.
If you are after super true to life simulation, you'll have to
model the dynamics of the whole system, which can get quite involved.
You'll have to take into account the shape of each sector of the wheel
and height differences etc, and make the ball bounce accordingly.

The bouncing balls simulation is one of the demos in my WinClass library
which is in the archives. When i dont feel like doing anything else
sometimes i watch the bouncing balls to see if there is any emerging
pattern. It's interesting to see how they behave from a given starting
point. Sometimes they group and sometimes they diverge apart.
There are more things to consider however with a ball in 3d space.
Perhaps you can limit the ball to 2d space and do something that
still looks real in a 2d field.

Take care,
Al

Hello lins7,

There is ChessClk.ex in demos. Should be the same basics.
