Hi all, I've uploaded a program that should show up soon. It is an artifical life program that is fairly simple in programming, but has elaborate behavior and an evolutionary capability that is reported to the user. It is not a game, but a process to be watched, perhaps left running while doing something else and returned to occasionally. Speed is important, so bind or translate it if possible. I hope to do other things with the idea, such as recording actions and playing them back at high speed (you've read the program, now see the movie), or possibly a screensaver version at full screen size (the current version runs in a fixed-size 800x600 window). If someone would like to "fork" this in any way at all, be my guest. Also, if anyone has an opinion about making the program better and faster (such as the use of a particular graphics library or a better way of handling the help file), please pass the information along. Hope you will give L and D a try, and if you have one percent as much fun with it as I've had, you'll have a good time. --Quark
