However said I disliked Euphoria?
Lees voordat je antwoord...
I dislike the fact that it's an excellent language,
with loads of potential, but being wrongly
implemented.
It should get a major kick into the 21st century.
It's 2001...
The year of flying trains and commercial JetPacks.
Who still gives a flying fuck if they can write a text
editor in Euphoria? Anything else requires speed.
A database engine (Woops! Too slow! Wha? Networking?
Impossible!), a graphics engine (display_image()!
Yeah! Let's write a 150Fps 3D Engine using that!), a
compiler (Woah! It takes two years to parse a file!
Excellent!),
a freaking web browser (Hey! I asked for that page
yesterday!)..
Take VB for example. You know half of the people on
this list don't know that VB is a compiled language,
using the Visual C++ compiler?
VB is perhaps the crappiest language ever created, but
type it into Yahoo. Now tell me why the hell there are
hundreds of thousands of sites about VB?
Huh? Is VB realy that much easier for developers?
Nope.
But it sure as hell supports COM and ActiveX, it has
built-in support for Direct X 7 and up, it has loads
of library routines for almost anything you require.
Euphoria, on the other hand, has open_dll() and a
command-line interpreter. WOAH! LET'S BUY THAT INSTEAD
TO WRITE THE NEXT NAVISON SOFTWARE! Come on... In the
era of distriuted apps, you should be able to atleast
create a DLL with a commercial compiler/interpreter
package! Writing an ActiveX library for Euphoria is
just too freaking hard to implement. I tried it about
7 times and gave up each time. Sure support for DOS
and Linux is cool. But focus on the OS with the
largest install base, namely Windows. Add DLL
compilation, and ActiveX support, and a without
subscript_check/overflow_check statement, that's all
that's truly needed. Let the commercialisation over to
me. I once turned a small team of Italian programmers,
from second-hand hardware sellers to the most
successfull game tool designers in the world, in just
2 months. The product was great, like Euphoria, and
that's all there was needed. I set up the message
board, and that's when I first introduced myself as
Mike The Spike. I grew a huge fan base, and people
would come visit the site just to get a glimps of me.
The used to sell their software at 20 bucks, and now
they sell it at 800 dollars. The same software. So
trust me allright.

Yeah sure, I know this.
But just tell me how the hell you're going to optimise
those routines...
I'd like to know...
Come on..

Hire me.
I'm a good coder.

Polite?
Yeah, and look where they got you.
I'm not unpolite, just excentric.
Plus, I don't give a fuck.
When I do something or say something I says or do what
I mean, and don't go sugar-coat it for people, cos I
don't give a rat's ass about what yall think of me.

Read the above statement that says "I don't give a
rat's ass about what yall think of me". There's always
Pro-MTS and Anti-MTS people. Wich one are you?
